Baptism
As believers we often say it’s an outward profession of an inward confession. Baptism doesn’t save us, accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior, and turning from our old ways Saves us (that’s the inward confession part). Baptism is that next big step where we let everyone know we belong to Jesus and we are walking a new path, and living a new life of dedication and service to Jesus.
Baptism follows the example that Jesus set on earth, when he himself was baptized by John the Baptist. Jesus even asks us to baptize others. “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” Matthew 28:19 NKJV.

This public acknowledgment of your faith is important. It matters so much Jesus said this about it, “Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven.” On the flip side, Jesus also said this in the next verse “But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.” Those verses make it pretty clear, this decision is very meaningful in your relationship with the Lord.
